I have been having problems with the printer loading envelopes (front Loader) to print.  What can I do to fix this instead of paying for someone to check it out?

Hello! I am sorry to hear you having trouble loading envelopes to your M401. For envelopes, you need to use Tray 1. Please refer the the user guide on pages 14-20 on how to load in the imput trays.

I apologize, That is how I have been loading the envelopes.  The roller is not sending the envelopes through.  I only put four envelopes in at a times.

Thanks for confirming you are using Tray 1. Have you tried feeding one at a time? Help feed the envelope?

Here are other suggestions.

  • Try cleaning off the pickup rollers on Tray 1.
  • Use a damp rag or a solution of rubbing alchohol to clear off any dust or debris causing the roller to slip.
  • Find a different kind of envelope to print on.
