HP LaserJet P2035n
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

We have network printers install on a print server.  This printer has been working for seviral months but has just stopped printing.  The user can send a document to be printed but it never prints out.  She states that the display says "printing" but nothing comes out.   The desktop is windows 7 the print server is Server 2012 R2.  I'm using the Universial Printing PCL 6 driver.

Has anybody seen this issue?

thanks.

Fairly common, actually.  Especially for printers designed during the Windows/Server 2003 era.

Most of the time if you completely uninstall the printer and reinstall it using a newly downloaded driver along with changing the IP address it will work.  You can always just let Windows find the best driver.  That usually works OK.

Unless, of course, there is a network device in the printer blown out.  It could be partially blown and still "look" like it should work.

Pull the cable and make sure it prints the general config with a network config page.  That unit should still print both together.  I know newer units have a seperate network report page.

I managed to get the printer to work by changing the print driver on the print server from PCL 6 to PCL 5.

I have had this type of thing happen before with other HP models of printers.
