I am trying to upgrade the firmware on our HP Laserjet P2055dn, however it always fails. I suspect that the RFU setting is set to off, but am unable to locate where this setting is. I have checked everywhere on the web admin site, as well as on the printer menus itself.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

When you say the upgrade fails what happens. Is there a message on the control panel of the printer or a message on the computer? Do you see any activity on the control panel when you send the upgrade? Most times when the upgrade fails it is because the downloaded file is corrupt or the wrong file. I would download it again making sure to choose the correct file.

I have tried downloading it multiple times. I first started by installing it using a PC that was on the Network, but the error i get is that the PC could no longer communicate with the printer, it could be rebooting. But it wasn't. So then i connected a laptop directly to the printer and tried installing it that way, but got the same error. Nothing on the Printer display looked any different than normal.
When i first download the Firmware, i get a popup saying to make sure the RFU setting is turned on. And this would make perfect sense of why the Firmware can't communicate with the printer. But i am unable to locate that setting anywhere.

Below is from the page where you download the software.
• The HP LaserJet P2050 series printer must be in a READY state. "Ready" must be shown on control panel before beginning the firmware update.
• The RFU setting must be changed to "ON" for the firmware update to be successful. Go to Service -> RFU on the control panel to check and change this setting.
• The printer must remain powered on during the entire firmware update process.
In other words go to the service menu and there should be an item for RFU.

Thank you for your response.
This is exactly where i run into the problem. When i search for the RFU setting under the "service" option, there isn't one. the only options are: 1)Cleaning Mode 2) USB speed 3)Less paper curl 4)Archive Print 5) Restore Defaults
And i have double checked, the printer is in "ready" mode and stays in that the whole time
