HP LaserJet Colour M252dw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I do not recall changing anything but suddenly my M252dw has stopped printing in Duplex.

When I print from Windows 10 (64bit) the most basic of documents (ie from Notepad) using the Windows printer selection under the duplex section it syas:

"Print on both sides (manually)"  with the options "No / Yes, flip over / Yes up"

How do I turn the "Print on both sides" to automatic?

Thanks

Chris

The 'automatic discovery' feature used by some drivers on installation (or update) doesn't always work; ensure that the driver knows that a duplex unit is present on the printer (assuming that one is):

  • For the printer instance in question, bring up the Printer properties dialogue.
  • Select the Device settings tab.
  • Ensure that the duplex unit is set to Installed rather than Not installed.

You'll probably need to be logged in with administrator credentials in order to change the device settings.

Stumbled upon the solution myself after finding nothing readily online.

⌘ Print > Printer > Layout > Two-Sided > Short-Edge Binding
