Hi

Please help me.

What is the expected escape sequence to drive tray feed for each tray? MGR System currently generating:
Tray 1 - &l1H
Tray 2 - &l4H
Tray 3 - &l5H
Tray 4 - &l20H
Tray 5 - &l21H

- Do the printer controller supports media type tray feed escape sequence e.g. &n10Wdplainr, &n7Wdplain.

I don't know the PCL identifiers used for each target tray with this model of printer, sorry.

HP used to publish such information in the individual User Guide manuals, but no longer appears to do so.

You could try using the Tray Map tool in the PCL Paraphernalia application (available via http://www.pclparaphernalia.eu) to generate test print jobs using specified combinations of one or more of paper size, paper type, paper source (tray identifier), together with plex mode and orientation.

Alternatively, you could generate print job(s), using the Windows printer driver for the printer, and selecting the required tray via the Print dialogue, but also selecting the 'print to file' option in that dialogue; then use the PRN File Analyse tool in the above application to analyse the captured print job.

it is very likely that the printer supports the PCL5 Alphanumeric ID escape sequence that you allude to, although the two examples that you quote are invalid.

The digit(s) in front of the 'W' sequence termination character indicate the count of data bytes expected following that termination character; the first of these data bytes should be 'd' (representing the decimal 100 identifier), and the remaining data bytes should specify the name of the required paper type.

So the count value should be one greater than the length of the paper type name.
