HP OfficeJet Pro 6230 Connection to Web GUI - everytime i try to get to the web gui I get connection refused.
I have to get someone onsite to reboot the printe, and even after that, I still can't connect to the web GUI.
I need to find a way to turn off the sleep timer, which is set to 15 minutes.

Hello, @Biggels – Hope you are well 🙂
Thanks for engaging in the HP Forums! I see by your post that you are experiencing issues with your Officejet printer. I will certainly do my best to help you!
Going through your post, I understand that the printer goes to the sleep mode and does not “wake up” when you try printing or while accessing the Web GUI. I would suggest you assign a static IP address and disable the IPv6 to fix the issue. Here are the steps:
- Restart the printer and make sure the printer is connected to the network.
- Obtain the IP address of the printer – On the printer control panel, press the Wireless (
) and the Information (
) buttons at the same time. A Network Configuration Page prints which will give you the IP address.
- Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
- Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.
- Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
- Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
- Click on radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)
- Restart the printer and the router once done.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Cheers 🙂

I've only disabled the IPv6 address. since the unit is on our enterprise, there is no need to assign a Google DNS address.
I will monitor for a few days and see if disabling the IPv6 address fixed the web page issue.
