HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I cannot scan with my HP OfficeJet Pro 8020.  I have downloaded and run the Print and Scan Doctor.  It takes me to a picture of an older version of the OfficeJet Pro 8020.

I cannot download software that will assist to rectify my problem.

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

Can go to Microsoft Store and download HP App> Add printer to scan?


Else, can you download and install the HP FULL Solution Software for your operating system:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-officejet-pro-8020-all-in-one-printer-...

 

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

When trying to use the scanning software I get an error message saying "the HP Officejet series 8020 was not found".  The printer is turned on and connected when this error message appears.

I tried your suggestion of using the HP app but I get the error message of "couldn't connect to scanner". 

Is there anything else I could try?

Were you using the HP Scan (HP app)  or the HP Scan from the HP FULL software?

 

Suggest to try using the HP app for convenience.

 

Was the printer added successfully yo te HP app?
