I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 9015. It came up with a "clear paper jam" message. I went through all the steps of clearing and the message still  wouldn't clear. This is how I finally cleared the message, by the way there never was a paper jam or even small bits of paper stuck, I verified this multiple times, so  it was a "false" message which needed to be cleared in order for the printer to function. I pressed the ok button and in between the error message popping up I pressed the settings icon, (it looks like a gear wheel at the very top of the small window on the front of the printer) and again on settings icon after menu pulled down. Then I scrolled down to Printer Maintenance, then Clean the Printhead and pressed that, after it finished that, I pressed Align the Printhead, it printed out 2 test sheets and the faux message was gone. Keep in mind you have to press ok to the faulty clear jam message which will keep popping up until you are able to complete these steps in between the faulty clear jam messages. Hope this helps.

Steps to Clear the Error:

  1. Press OK to dismiss the error temporarily.

  2. As soon as the error message clears momentarily, tap the Settings icon (gear symbol) on the screen.

  3. If the error pops back up, press OK again and retry tapping the gear icon quickly.

  4. In Settings, go to:

    • Printer Maintenance

    • Then tap Clean Printhead.

  5. After the cleaning process finishes, go back and select:

    • Align Printhead.

  6. Let it print the alignment pages.

  7. The error message should now be gone, and your printer should function normally.
