Nothing happen between the two dates. The problem is present on 4 different Notebook (HP-SAMSUNG-SONY) with Windows 7, windows 8 and Vista.

Hey, the problem is not software related. What I mean is, it doesn't matter if you put it on different computers the problem is the same. The issue we are all experiencing, or were experiencing, is the fact that the scanner itself, the part that stands the document was lifted off the rail. If you followed the instructions you could've put it back on the rail. It had nothing to do with different computers or anything

Sorry I don't agree. The printer appear in all PC in the list of the printers and function perfectly. When I try to work with the scanner:

1) On the officejet using the keyboard non destination is listed

2) From the PCs using the software the answer is "the scanner is not installed"

Nothing to do with the paper.

If I run the utility "HP print and scan doctor" the answer is "the scanner is not installed"

This thread is regarding a message "scanner failure" on the printer itself when you turn it on.
Also, the scanner part thr moves left and right, is not all the way to the left.
Are you experiencing these issues? If not you're in the wrong thread mate.

Sorry but if you can install the scanner. It's function for two or three days perfectly.  Then it doesn't function more. And if you after several attemps can install again the sofware and it's function again perfectly, it's not a mechanicla problem. Also sometimes when I make the test with HP scan doctor, the carriage moves during the testing but the answer at the end is "reinstall the software"

I guess you didnt read it so I'll try again:
According to the issues you are experiencing - yes it does sound like a software issue.

However this thread is about a mechanical issue. Something different from what you are describing. You are in the wrong place my friend.
