HP Officejet 5740
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

NSKS.org's tribute cards are 4.25" high by 5.5" wide & our new HP Officejet 5740 PFSCW on the just updated MSWindows 10 is failing to print.

MSWord 7 has the documents in landscape form; the printer will try to print it, jam the card, & display a message the paper must be 4.5" high.  We are able to feed the related envelopes (4.375" x 5.75") by feeding sideways.  Attempts to feed the card forms sideways fails as I have been unable to set the HP or MSWord flags to work.

What settings with MSWord and/or HP Officeject 5740 must be made to get the cards to print sideways?

TY in advance,

The fun of getting used to MSWindows 10 & updating other applications with parts now incompatible...  Anyway, back to this issue:

I setup both a "5.5x4.25in/139x107mm" (not shown in the forms list by HP Officejet 5740) and "4.25x5.5in/139x107mm" forms.

The when the latter is available & selected, I feed the form sideways (4.25" side in 1st), the output is 90° off the form's pre-printed text 😞 regardless if I set to print in landscape or portraint.

I wonder why the envelope printing works fine but the above fails.

Is there another setting/flag needed to fix this?

Thank you, Lee

Is the orientation in Word & 5740 preferences the same?

The orientation in MSWord is Landscape.   I have set the orientation of the Officejet 5740 to landscape (and portrait just in case).  The printout of the tribute card comes out in portrait anyway.  The envelop prints out in landscape mode just find, so I must be missing some setting in the card form.

Below is the Layout display from the printer.  Paper/Quality is set to Main Tray, Plain Paper, Draft, Black & White, with Adv. Opts. having set Paper/Output's Paper Size to '4.25x5.5in/107x139mm'.  undefined

Using Notepad can you print in landscape on the 4.25x5.50 card?

I wonder if the problem mentioned in the link might not be causing your problem.

Any problem printing on letter size paper?
