I have a 6500 and have the same problem, perpetually.  The wirelss printing works for a while, then doest.  I reset, reinstall re everything, it works, then stops.  Cable printing is no problem.  I have assigned a static IP.  The printer says its on the network but nothing can print to it (unless its via cable).  My wifi router is a DLINK.  Why does this printer say its on the network but not allow any communication?  I cant open the printers web page either.

What is the latest on this problem, I have the exact same issue.  I'm on a Xfinity combo modem/router, it does everything perfect.  The 6500A worked then stop, in essence it works wired, but not over the network, printer has an ip (shows signal strenth) but cannot be pinged.

Do you mean it works wired but not wireless?  Is wireless isolation on in the router settings?

Do you have a standard (non-ISP-issued) router to try?  ISP routers are notorious problem children....

Yes! changing channels did work for me. Different channels did not reply, 6 worked and 10 also

Quite possibly because the communication is being garbled by another, more powerful, source of radio energy at the same frequency. (Think cordless phones, microwaves, other access points, and the like.)
