Printer keeps showing Out of Paper even though I have reloaded the tray. How do I get status reset to Ready?

Welcome to the forums @richinsc!

I understand your Officejet 6830 is showing you an "Out of Paper" error, and wanted to reach out with my own suggestions to you.

Reset Instructions:
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet directly.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

Hopefully when you power up the unit, the error message will be gone! Please let me know what happens!

I have tried all of the suggestions, including disconnecting the cords and cleaning the rollers, but I still have the Out of Paper message despite the fact that the try is full.    Any help  will be much appreciated.  Since I'm not very computer saavy and a very old senior citizen without a grandchild to help me, I'd appreciate easy-to-follow instructions.  I purchased the his printer and Windows 10 in Sept. 2015.

Many thanks.
