The main paper tray/drawer on the printer will not shut all the way, something in the drawer seems to be stuck or broken. Is there a way to remove the drawer or another solution to fix it?

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you have an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer. I read that the main paper tray does not go all the way in. Something in the drawer seems to be stuck or damaged.
To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Are you able to remove the paper tray out completely from the printer and check?
- Was the tray closed with force anytime before?
Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Remove the paper tray out and check if you can see something inside the printer that the blocking the tray to enter fully.
- Also, power off the printer and check if something is loose or rattling inside the printer.
You may refer to this HP Document for the hardware setup of the printer.
I hope this information helps. Keep me posted. Good luck!
