I have not been able to get it to work using any of the fixes. I have not heard from anyone at the company. I have looked online for a replacement part, but they are 100 plus shipping. It prints great, though.

I am having this same issue and have tried everything.  Is there some sort of fix that anyone has found?

Well, I received my BS obligatory call from HP this morning regarding the dim screen. Although this has been an ongoing issue with, at least this model printer, but because it is out of warranty, the only thing he could do, was to give me a WHOOPING $25 credit towards a new printer. REALLY?

I have a Canon MP480 printer that I picked up at a local thrift store back in Spring of 2010, for $8, and I have NEVER had a problem with it, and it continues to work FLAWLESSLY!

Thanks, but no thanks HP! I will stick with the products that I KNOW work. Stand behind your products, or good luck in this dog eat dog world.

I got an hp forum email this morning, or last night, didn't see it until this morning. It said more or less if I have opted to not send it back to store, they needed data and would escalate my concerns to the Netherlands. Why to the Netherlands? That is not where I bought it.

All I want is a replacement screen so I can see what I am doing, as well as, utilize my device to it's fullest capacity. I have not bought anything but HP printers since 1990 (both brand new and used). This is the only issue I have had with one, but as I have said, it prints great. I just have to make sure I use my help and tools that are available on the pc not the printer screen.

I will provide the data, but I am guessing it will be much like you all have found. It is just a issue with this model.

HP has no support what so ever.  Get ridd of that printer and buy another brand.  Done with HP.  Have the same problem with my HP 7500A a whole spindel of DVD-R that you cannot write to.  More that a year later.  No responce.  Sick of HP
