I have had this printer for about 2 years now. I have never had any issues before with connecting it to a wireless network. We have moved into a new house and had no issues reconnecting it to our new wireless network. We have used a wireless router extendor the ENTIRE time I have had this printer, and it connected to it with no issues. In the location of the printer at this current time, and the location of my wifi extendor at this current time, it has connected to the wifi before with no problems. The desktop computer I am using at this moment is connected to the extender, which is the network I am trying to connect my printer to. However, a short time ago out of nowhere my printer now will not connect to the network. Correction: it will not connect to ANY network, nor can it locate ANY networks in the area. With my desktop and my printer sitting right next to eachother, my desktop is picking up a signal from approximately EIGHT networks. Therefore I know there is no issue with my router. However I have already tried resetting the router and its extendor, restarted the printer countless times, and have even changed the router name and passwords to try to make it more secure. I have used the HP support assistant and the print and scan docctor for troubleshooting already. I have tried to connecct the printer to the network using a usb cord and connecting it through my desktop computer, which like I stated is already connected to the network wirelessly and still the printer is not picking up any networks. I am at the end of the road with this troubleshooting and am now wondering if there must be something that died in the printer that helps it connect to a wireless network. Nothing I do works. Please help!!!!!!

Hi! @kashdenero

Welcome to the HP forums! Good Day! It is a great way to engage, post questions and find resolutions by working with specialists in the HP community.

I understand you have issues connecting your printer to wireless.

Don't worry I will try to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Are you connecting your printer to 2.4Ghz to the 5.0Ghz network?

Please try the steps recommended below.

search for the 'wireless setup' document.
Step 1: Restart the computer, printer, and router
Restart the computer, printer, and router to resolve any connectivity error states.
   NOTE:
The following steps temporarily disconnect network and Internet connections and require restarting your computer. Complete any tasks or downloads in progress before continuing.
Turn off the router by pressing the power button or disconnecting the power cord.
Turn off the printer, and then unplug any USB or Ethernet cables.
   NOTE:
When a USB or Ethernet cable is connected to the printer, the printer cannot connect wirelessly.
Close all running programs on your computer, and then shut down the computer.
Reconnect the power cord to the router, and then wait for the Internet activity light to display a normal connected status.
Turn on the printer.
Turn on the computer.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day ahead! 🙂

Ok. Of all the things i have tried, unplugging the usb from the printer was all it took. I didnt realise you cant have it plugged in at the same time. Is there no way to have it plugged into my desktop, but still have it connected to wifi for all my other devices? (Phones, laotops) i just find it easier to have it plugged into my desktop for ease of access

@kashdenero, Thanks for your quick response and time.

I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

Yes, you can have the printer plugged into your desktop using USB cable and connect other devices to the same printer.

To do that you have to reinstall the printer software on your desktop and select USB option.

Please update the printer software using this link.

Note: While installing the printer software connect USB cable only when it asks you to connect.

On the other laptop install the printer software select wireless only and complete the installation.

Note: printer and your laptop should be connected to the same network to print.

I'll watch your reply!

Take Care! 🙂
