My HP P1505 does not want to print self test page each time after pressing the green button /the upper button/ on the front panel. Sometimes it prints, but not each time.
Last month i bought a new HP P1505 - the same problem - it wont print self test page each time.
Please advice?

I had the same problem after the computer it was attached to failed on a cold boot one morning (i.e. printer and computer where switched off) and we tried to connect it to a print server available. I took the printer to my workshop as I thought it was faulty but it was not. For some reason the test page prints succesfully, once it completes a print job from a computer connected directly. (OS: win 7 x86 and win XP x86)
-If you have the same symptoms the online led stays on even when you open the toner door.
-The printer still gets detected from the computer and could be installed successfully.
-once a print job occurs, the LED status works ok, (i.e. when you open the cartridge door the cartridge led works)
It is also possible that this issue is on other HP printers becuse we tried another printer which first it was installed on a computer and leaving the power on it worked fine with the print server but after switching it off then back on the jobs did not print. Switching back the printer to the computer, the printer worked fine (this printer does not have any bottons for printing test pages and if i'm not mistaken its a laserjet 1020)
Please note that these printers are working with re-manufactured toner so the issue could be caused by these toners. In fact HP Print Diagnostic Utility mentioned a warning regarding the re-manufactured toner.

in my case - printer successfuly prints the desired page by pressing "green" (upper) button after at least one page was printed to it (i.e. - the "print job was successfully finished").
Been just switched on (without any jobs sent to it - it doesn't prints anything by pressing ANY key or key combination at the front panel of the printer.
By the way - the same behaviour printer shows when you're trying to get the page counter from the "preoperties" page of the printer (on the "About" tab in Windows printer driver's setting).
