Hi folks,

I set a static IP for the HP Photosmart 5510. When I navigate to <IP Address>  I get a pop up dialog asking for a username and password.

Does anyone know how to reset this on the HP Photosmart 5510?

Many thanks,

regards

Hi Joe,

Try the following steps below.

1. Press the Wireless Button on control panel

2. Press Settings

3. Scroll Down to Restore Network Defaults, and then press Ok

You should be able to access the security settings in the EWS now. Let me know what you find out?

Hi dchulhan,

Did you setup a security user name and password from the Administators tab in the EWS when you setup the static IP address?

Check the private message I sent, and let me know if this helps resolve the issue?

Hello, I'm having the same issue. I set a username and pasword for the EWS and forgot the credentials. I contacted HP support by phone and they were unable to help me. They asked me to do a semi-full Reset which did not reset the login credentials. Do you have any idea how to reset the username and password?

Hello again, I tried the solution that you gave me and for some reason it's still promting me to insert a username and a password when I click on settings. I would really appreciate if you can help meout, this is becoming frustrating. Isn't there a way to do a full reset or factory reset?

Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe,

I have reproduced this issue on my unit here. Please be patient while I investigate why the steps provided are not working to clear the Security Password in the EWS.
