Photosmart 5515 all in one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

I have a Photosmart 5515 which as suddenly started to have a problem with the touch screen. It will print fine from my pc so all is well in that respect, but it seems that part of the touch screen doesn't work. The screen seems to be in four sections with the  initial display indicating photo in the top left, copy in the top right, scan in the bottom left and apps in the bottom right. any function associated with the bottom right will not operate, whereas the other three sections respond correctly.

Is this possibly a touch membrane fault and can it be repaired/replaced..............or have I got to replace it? I have a load of replacement cartidges as well, just my luck!

Welcome to the HP Forums.
I hope you're well @malkey26,

I wanted to stop in to share my suggestions for your troubles with the display on your Photosmart 5510. Please try the steps from the link below to see if they can help. If not, I would then recommend calling phone support to see about a replacement unit.

Hi Rainbow 7000

I'm sorry, but you don't understand my question. It is nothing to do with the printer turning itself off repeatedly.

My problem is with the touch screen. One segment of the screen will not respond whilst the others do. Please read my initial question again.

Thanks

Hi malkey26,

Thanks for responding to me. I should have clarified and I do apologize for that. I am aware of the display issue you're receiving and have looked through different troubleshooting guides and steps for you. The link I posted entails steps that I would specifically recommend that you try for the display issue. A reset, firmware update, checking power connections and ensuring the printer is plugged in directly to a wall outlet can help fix a display problem. Disregard the title of the guide, it's the steps that are important.

If they do not help, then you are looking at needing a new unit. HP's phone support can discuss your next options with you, if it does come to that stage.

Good luck 😄
