Photosmart 7515 printer CQ878A

Having issues with the basic black ink printing on my Photosmart 7515 all-in-one printer. The photo printing is great. The black ink for printing documents has gone from printing black, to dark gray, then light gray to not printing at all. The first fix I tried was swithing to a new ink cartridge and cleaning the cartridges. Then, a manual print head cleaning. When  that didn't work I ordred and installed a new print head. Still not printing. Also, the alignment always errors out. Even tried unplugging the printer and plugging it back in. Also, uninstalled the printer and reinstalled the software. Nothing works. Any ideas?
