If your printer was connected at the time you initiated MAC filtering and if you had the printer listed in the MAC address listings when you first "Saved" the MAC filtering as enabled, then the printer should have been connected.

So, if you did not do this, disable MAC filtering, connect the printer to the wireless network, then re-enable MAC filtering making sure the printer is on the list of accepted MAC addresses.

Just a note, it is easy to defeat MAC filtering by changing your devices' MAC address temporarily.  I don't know how sharp your nephew is, but, just so you know...

I have a HP Photosmart C4780 and it worked just fine printing via wireless network, until I changed to Verizon Fios wireless router.

The printer prints via USB cable, but not via wireless connection

the blue wireless button on printer is lit/on.

Please help me set-up the printer, so that I can print wirelessly again

thanks

My HP Printer is off-line and the message I continue to get is: "You must add the MAC address of the printer to the list of permitted devices for my wireless router."  Now guys, I have the MAC address but what do I do with it???  Is this something that I do on my MacBook Pro or something I do on my Printer.  And how do I get to where I need to go to add the MAC Hardward Address?

Yeah, I know some of you are laughing OK, but I need HELP!  I'm on a time line here.  I need my printr like NOW!

Help,

MsJiggy

Ignore the MAC filtering error, it is not the real problem.  What router are you using?  Do you have a C4780?  What operating system on your computer?
