HP Photosmart Plus B 209 a-m
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

 I own 2 different printers, both which stopped working within a day of each other.  Thinking it was a problem with my computer, I had the computer diagnosed (it had tons of viruses, etc) and "fixed".  The harddrive had to be stripped and the Windows 7 64-bit OS was reinstalled.  When I got it home I reinstalled the Dell application disks that came with the computer when I bought it.  However I have been unable to install either printer even after downloading updatede drivers.  My HP Photosmart Plus B 209 a-m shows a fatal error "-Stub""66628" when I attempt to install it.  After 2 days and speaking to 2 different techs, the problem continues.  Are there any solutions to this problem?  The techs say it is not the computer, but I have my doubts about that.

Can you run an OS update for the the Win 7 computer to ensure it is up to date?

 

After doing that, can you try this Uninstaller from Microsoft and then reinstall the FULL feature software again?

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

Thanks for the reply, but before I got your solution I was so discouraged that I bought a new HP printer just to see if it would work with my computer. After it installed I tried my old HP and it also installed. I am guessing the new printer's drivers are what I needed and I just couldn't get the ones I had downloaded to install.   Thank you for trying to help.
