My Photosmart c309a printer does not see ANY networks.
- using windows Vista
- four wireless laptops maintain excellent connection to home network
- had recent power outage, but all laptops re-established connection to home network;
- ran HP Wireless Network Test Report that shows wireless "On", but "FAIL" for wireless working;
- diagnostic report also shows wireless radio is not functioning; and that I should contact HP support;
So far, I have taken the following actions:
- shut down entire network (Linksys router)
- unplugged and replugged the printer, and router
- set printer to factory default
- everything I can think of (but go ballistic)

I have a similar problem except that my 309a will connect but if it sits idle for a short time it will disconnect and have to shut down and reconnected or reset using setup menu. Extensive contact with HP has indicated that HP is well aware of the problem but has no intent of posting a fix and that the problem is inherent on most of their printers.. Techrep indicated that the best solution was to get a new printer. I have recently purchased a Canon all in one and it works as advertised. I still use my HP in a wireless mode, but have to restart after every printing if more than a few minutes lapse between printing. Sorry I am no help, but just passing on what HP says about the printer.

for it is worth, on the printer itself, go to setup , network, wireless network test. this prints a network test report. the couple of times that i randomly did this, have noticed that wireless antenna icon reappears on printer display and wireless printing capabilities are restored, even after turning printer off and back on. make sure your wireless radio is turned on (setup, network, wireless radio, on)

same problem .. i think everyone who purchased the c309a is having this problem... was told printer needs to be replaced by hp tech support .. hp sold bad printers that break after warranty expires to many , many of their customers...and is not doing anything except saying ' oh well, you're {content removed}... can we sell you another printer?..' SHAME on hp.. i thought they cared about their customers and quality of their products.. apparently not..

As a replacement WiFi card does not seem to be available from any supplier, including HP, I have found this soultion. Buy a pair of Powerline Ethernet Adapters. Installing these, (one from the router and one from the printer) re-installing the drivers and identifying the connection as 'wired ethernet' effectively restores the wireless operation.
I hope this helps.

Please call HP support: www.hp.com/go/totalcare (click on Printers & Monitors, there is a phone number on the resulting page).
