I am unable to install the HP Print and Scan Doctor. When I run the installation utility, I recieve an error message stating that the utility will only install on XP Service Pack 3 or Higher machines.
I am currently running Windows 7 (32) Service Pack 1. Any help would be greatly appreciate as I need this utility to figure out why the scanner is not working.
Thanks.

Hi,
From your Downloads folder, locate the Print and Scan Doctor file (HPPSdr.exe), right-click it, and select Properties.
Within the Compatibility tab, ensure it is not wrongly checked for Compatibility Mode by any chance.
If the same persists, I would rather suspect any missing updates for your operating system, please open the Control Panel and select System and Security, from there click on Windows Update.
Please include a screenshot of the shown screen in your reply.

Hello again ShlomiL,
Sorry for the delay. However, I was able to try the compatibility tab from the properties tab. I was also able to get a little bit further into the process but I am still unable to install the Scan Doctor. The two scenarios that I have tried at this point are the following.
Scenario 1:
- I set the compatibility mode to XP Service Pack 3.
- Right Click the icon for Scan Doctor.
- Select Run as Administrator.
- Allow the program to extract.
- After being prompted with an error message regarding the Version, where I am told to download a previous version. Select Yes on the dialog box.
- Wait for the download to begin, but the download never starts and I am prompted with an error message.
The Second Scenario:
- I set the compatibility mode to Windows 7.
- Right Click the icon for Scan Doctor.
- Select Run as Administrator.
- Allow the program to extract.
- After extraction, the program never starts. I did this several times and when viewing the task manager, I see the completion of the Web Pack Exe extration. I see the HP Scan Doctor Setup exe start. However, It immediately dies and never brings up an install dialog box.
I sincerely hope that you can give me a little more insight as to the issue. Thank you again.
