Hello, @Michelleideson – Greetings!

Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! I will do my best to assist you with this issue 🙂

Are you trying to perform a factory reset on your printer? If so, I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.

NB: You do not need the serial number to perform the reset. But, you can find the serial number on the rear side of the printer on a bar code sticker.

Let me know how that goes. Good luck!

Cheers 🙂

Hello, @Michelleideson

Thanks for the update!

I am afraid we cannot change the page count by doing a reset on the printer. Performing a semi-full reset is the best way to reset the printer to its original state, but page count is one of those settings that we cannot reset.

Also, you can find the serial number of the printer by printing a printer status page from Setup - Reports - Printer status report.

You can also find the serial number using the HP Printer Assistant software installed on your computer.

  1. Search Windows for HP, and then select the printer name from the list of results.

    HP Printer Assistant opens.

  2. Click Print, Scan, and Fax at the top of the window.

  3. Under Print, click Maintain Your Printer.

    The HP Toolbox opens.

  4. Click the Device Information tab.

The serial number is displayed in the second field down on the left.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!

Cheers 🙂

Hello, @Michelleideson

Thanks for the reply!

This is the user manual for the printer: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05048181

Also, check the printer support & troubleshooting page here: http://hp.care/2lzE9PY

Let me know if that helps!

Good luck 🙂

Hello, @Michelleideson

I am afraid that's all I got 😞

I would suggest contacting the HP phone support for further assistance.

You can visit http://www.support.hp.com/contact-hp and fill in your product details to get the tech support number.

(1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.

(2) Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.

(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.

(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

Have a great day!
