Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

-  First, I don't like that I now have to use the Scan and Capture app.  It's a great app with cool features when you need it.  However, when I just want to quickly scan a single document into my computer, I miss being able to do it through the printer itself.  I have an Officejet Pro 8600, and I used to be able to select "Scan", "Computer", and it would just send them to the PC for me.  Now, it says I have to use the app, which takes longer for simple single-page scans.

- Second, and the real problem here, is that it keeps messing up my page order.  My printer can print duplex (front and back), but that doesn't work for scanning.  To scan multiple pages with front and back, I have to scan the front sides, then put them back through flipped over to scan the back sides.  Of course, that puts the pages all out of order.  No problem, since the handy app allows me to drag them around to reorder them.  However, after I've done that and verified that it's all right, I save it, and it changes the order.  Even with the app still open showing the right order, I open up the saved PDF, and the pages are in a different order.  It's not even the original order that they scanned in, either.  It's been happening every time, and I don't see any noticeable pattern to it.  After two or three attempts at reordering the pages, saving, and checking it again, I can finally get it to save correctly, but that's a lot of hassle that needs to be fixed.

- My computer is running Windows 10 Pro x64, and is fully updated, with automatic updates turned on.  This has been going on as long as I've had the app, and multiple updates and restarts have not changed it any.  I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, with no change.

Hi,

Firstly HP Scan and Capture app does not have full feature software. This app is more convenience to use on mobile devices. For a proper Windows 10 computer, you need to install full feature software and driver from the CD which came in the box OR download from the printer homepage.

As above, you need full software and driver on your computer to do this properly. The Officejet Pro 8600 can't scan duplex, you need Officejet Pro 8600 plus or premium printer.

Regards.
