I have been using HP App for years with almost no issues.  Today (7/26/21) I clicked on scan.  The scan window came up momentarily and then the app shut down without explanation or error message.  My OS is Windows 10 Home, version 21H1, installed 7/28/2020.  OS build 19043.1110.

 

HP Smart 129.1.234.0

When I open HP APP, it shows that the printer is connected and ready.  It also shows the ink levels and I can print a test page. But on the information page, it says Installation Status:  Not installed.

 

I attempted to run the wireless connection wizard but it would not work.  I even entered the IP number manually in the system printer port configuration.  This seemed to work last time I had a problem, but not this time.

 

Driver Name:  HP DJ3700 series PCL-3

Driver Type:  Type 4 - User Mode

Driver Version:  20-79.1.6341
