VisionAiry,
I have stumbled onto a clue, I think. The compatiblity problem may be related to Windows Data Execution Prevention (DEP). For those of you that don't know what that is, it is a security feature that prevents damage from viruses and security threats by monitoring programs' use of system memory. And I believe the HP smart print is operating inside the system memory.
You are supposed to be able to disable DEP on selected programs if they do not work properly at least for a time to trouble shoot.
Start>Control Panel>System>Advanced System Settings
Under Preformance>Settings
Click the DEP tab and then click Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I sellect.
Click Add and then navigate to Smart Print which on my compurer is C>programs files (X86)>Hewlett-Packard>Smart Print 2.1>LaunchEspresso.exe (I think).
However, when I try to excluded it from DEP I get a message that says it cannot run without DEP and I am denied.
Just a thought and something to confirm or exclude from the problem.

Welcome to the forums. I am happy to go above and beyond and push this for you all. I hope I can come back with good news. I thank you all for your patience and your input. It will be very valuable while I continue to look into this at a higher level. No promises I can come back with a solution but I can promise your voice will be heard and at the very least I can keep you updated. Thank you!

I have found something that might help the programmers analyze the problem. Using VISTA and IE9, Smart Print will not work with a secure web site (HTTPS)! It will display the same two banners (as with IE10) and then revert to the original screen without having shown the tool bar. Otherwise Smart Print works great with IE9. Hope this will help lead to the problem area.

Yes I think it will in fact. In my presentation I have included links to all posts related specifically to IE10, as you indicated work-arounds and other versions of Internet Explorer is not what this post is about. However, having said that, I think I will go back a few years here and look through all the problems people had with IE9 and look for similarities and solutions. I have already tried that actually and I found no commonality. It was almost as if they fixed everything wrong with the IE9 version of Smart Print and then created different problems in IE10. Getting rid of the Bing Bar's requirement was a great advancement but when I had asked a few of the more experienced forum-users about this problem, they all said "Bing bar was a requirement still." Without a specific department to handle software like this, I may very well become that department. Keep all suggestions coming. The more views, hits, and misses I get, the more attention I can bring. I know I keep saying this but thank you all for your patience. The reason being, I have absolutely no idea how long this will take so be aware of that while I continue to gather all information for a presentation.

Can anyone tell me how can I restore IE 9 until such time as this entire mess is cleared up?
IE 10 was an automated push from Microsoft, until the Smart Print program malfunctioned I had no idea that my system was upgraded to the IE 10 "improvement". Quite honestly, I can not see any "improvement" over the IE 9 format. I use my laptop for all computer work and do not have a smart phone involved in my daily processes. Also, why do I need to upgrade to Windows 8? I do not have an Ipad type device and see no reason to even consider contributing more to the Bill Gates phenomena of never ending "must have eccentricities". Sorry, I'm a bit of a relic started working computers back in the 60s and some of the advancements are of no interest to me.

To remove IE10 and revert to IE9, click or see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957700 .

I wanted to wait until I successfully uninstalled IE10 before getting on here and telling you how I did it. Before trying to uninstall the IE10, I went to the Microsoft page where I selected to install IE9 but it said it was already installed. I went to add/remove programs and selected "View Installed Updates" on the left hand side where I found Internet Explorer 10 and quite a few language packages for it. After I clicked on it and uninstalled it, I had to reboot my computer. I noticed my blue E icon was still in my task bar and IE9 immediately opened without having to reinstall it. I must admit, I do like IE9 a lot more than IE10. I kept getting IE10 and Google Chrome mixed up. And now all the IE10 language packs are gone, too. I will still continue to help you but I am happy to have IE9 back. I have no problem reinstalling IE10 if I need to, though.

VisionAiry:
Did you not read my last post? It would have saved your time. It had a link to the Microsoft site that explains EXACTLY what to do and what will happen (will automatically reinstall IE9). I suggest that you refer everyone to that site to uninstall IE10.

Yes, I did read that link by the way. In fact, I followed that link for instructions on how to do it so I could see what the people here see. I just wanted to share my experience. From my understanding, some people feel more comfortable when they read a first-hand account when doing something they have never done before. I am just here to help. That is all.
