I am new to this forum and this problem. Seems a lot of people have worked on this nitemare a long time. I appreciate all of you and your dedicated efforts. Now could you please explain where is this 'magic' button and how I find it? I am one of those dangerous begginners who never heard of a PC till age 74 last year, so please explain it like you would to the village idiot. Use Windows 7, IE 10, versions unknown and no idea where to look to find out. Thank you.

Perinky - Since no one else has responded as of yet, I will give it a try (don't think I am very good at this, however!). Open IE and right mouse click in a BLANK area of the toolbar (top of screen where FILE, EDIT, VIEW, etc are listed). Now, I have a total of 4 different toolbars showing on my computer, so depending on how you have your computer setup, you may have to click in a blank area in more than one spot for CUSTOMIZE to show up...hope this makes sense! Go down to CUSTOMIZE & another box will appear; then click on ADD OR REMOVE COMMANDS. CUSTOMIZE TOOLBAR now shows. Under AVAILABLE TOOLBAR BUTTONS, look for HP SMART PRINT. Highlight (click) it & then click on ADD which is to the right of this list. Close that screen & HP Smart Print should show up somewhere BELOW File, Edit, View, etc, again depending on how your computer displays. Click on this HP Smart Print (may show up only as an icon (looks like a printer) without the wording, again depending on how you have your computer set to display. Wait a few seconds for the page to load up for printing. HP Smart Print "toolbar" appears at the top of the page to be printed. Also HP Smart Print should be listed under "TOOLS" in your toolbar at the very top of the screen of IE. Hope this works for you!

I don't think there is a manual for this. When you put your cursor in the body of the text a red box with an X will show up. This red box is used to OUTLINE additional area that you may want to remove/not print. Just drag while holding down left side of mouse starting at left side of page & slide over to right side & pull down at that point. Sometimes it shows a small circle top & bottom of an area that you can also grab & pull up or down. A green box will allow you to select more area that you want printed that HP shows in the grayed area. White area is what will be printed and grayed area will not be printed. Once you play around with it for a while you will understand it better. Again, I hope that all of this makes sense and thanks for the praise given to me earlier. Have fun!!!

This is ridiculous ! I've spent 30 minutes reading all these messages. It looks like at least ONE person has had success, but I'm not technologically sophisticated enough to do what that person did ! Can't SOMEONE give me an ABC 123 instruction?
Isn't HP READING all this? Don't they see the NUMBER of people who have READ these messages??
What's a grandmother to DO ????
I've already uninstalled my old SmartWeb printing (I THINK one of you said that it is now obsolete?). I have Internet Explorer 10 and Windows 7 and a J4680 Officejet All-in-One.
PLEASE HELP !
Thank you,
gmw
