Now refer to message 130 where the previous conversation here leads to the next steps and a solution.  I know it can be frustrating but it looks like you're making progress, which is good.

Do you only have to open one 7z folder or all of them?

I have, I believe, 10 7z files.

HP Recommended
In fact the error message shows no error code.
You must pay attention to the folder where it can't find the file, which is shown on the top bar of the message.
Then you need to create a folder with that same name and follow the steps I mentioned early on this topic.

Here is an error message message that came afterwords:

Sorry everyone for the delayed response.

It sounds a lot like a fatal error. Yeah and the 7z folder will be the only one of many containing printer information, but you won't find the ccc/util folders if you finish the installation or it errors out. You have to extract it and cancel the install because once the temporary files are accessed they change location and rewrite themselves.

The best thing to do would just to be empty the temp folder completely. If anything is still in it afterwards, it is because it is running in your processes of the task manager (alt/ctrl/delete).

So extract the full feature software from the website then go to the 7z folder>>util>>CCC>>>L3 uninstall. Reboot.

Next run Disk Cleaner in your accessories. Reboot.

Run CCleaner and back up your files before you run it using their software (sorry if I've told you this before and it didn't work). Reboot.

Review some additional steps in this link if you have already tried the above or if I am not giving you steps that you may feel are not applicable.

If you are still unable to scan or install, this is almost the extent of my knowledge regarding that matter as I do not mess around with regedit unsupervised myself but you can always try to restore to a previous point or re-install your operating system but I always hated telling people to do that because I truly feel there is a fix like going into your Program 86x files and repairing the scan.msi or digital imaging monitor in there but seriously this is the entire index of every fix ever posted, right here in this post unless you really want me to get creative lol in which case I probably can think of a few hundred more steps to try Smiley Wink but I'll keep trying if you do.

Good luck and I'll guide you any way I can. Don't forget about Windows Fax and Scan.

I really hope this helps.

My 7z file is 7zSL1ED2 and files "Util" and "CCC" are not in it at step 9 & 10.  I have the dual processor Win7 i3 (64 & 32).

Might this be different than other Win7s? When I go for "Start Key", "all Programs" then "HP" that list says the "HP" is empty. My guess is that list is for (32) bit.  At any rate I am totally lost, at this point.

I nee help, thanx.

In order to get those files in your 7z folder, you have to go to the website and download the software.  After it extracts, cancel the installation.  Once the installation process begins, it changes those files and places them elsewhere and that is why you cannot find them.

Absolutely, positively NFW does that work - after dozens of attempts to resolve this issue (I took it on as a challenge), and after an obnoxious gentleman from a call center in India tried to hold me up for $40 for a software issue that occurred that I had nothing to do with...I simply gave up and bought a Brother.

HP is a FAIL.
