Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The plotter is currently connected to my desktop and able to print as a windows printer through the Jet Direct card. It will not connect to the HP utility at all. When I search for the plotter using the IP address it doe not find it, When I do a general serach it does not find it either.I need to chage the autorotation setting to fit 36" roll paper. I have downloaded the latest firmware, drivers and Hp utility software. When I tried to connect with a usb cable, it would see the plotter but say it is unavaliable. A seperate issue is that while doing a printhead alignment, it stops at about 60% and gives a 79.04 error everytime. I have recently replaced the main board, power supply, display panel, and belt. The print heads are new, and all ink is at least 75% full.

Two questions. First is the plotter connected with a crossover cable to the computer or is it connected to a router or switch on the network? Second question is when you replaced the main board was it a new unused board from hp or a used board you got from someplace. The reason I ask the second question is hp plotters do not like used boards since they have information from the previous plotter which may differ from your plotter. The error you get is a firmware error so I would try to update the firmware first before anything else. If you type in the ip address into your internet browser does the web interface come up and are you able to make changes from the interface.

First question it is connected to  a router

second question the board was used. By main boiard i mean the board that the formatter and jet direct card plug into.

I can access the web page in the plotter through the web brouser, but I dont find an option for the autorotate

also cant find this setting in the windows printer for it also

You may be chasing a red herring here. See the link below:

The part you replaced contains model and serial number information which compares with the print mech board on the plotter which also contains the infor. Suggest you do a google search for the service manual for your plotter and look on how to check the serial number and model number and make sure it matches what you have and if not the manual tells you how to put in the correct information.

I reloaded the plotter driver and rolled back to the oldest avaliable HPGL2 driver through windows 10. It gave me the missing options I was looking for.

Thanks
