HP Z6800

We recently purchased a Z6800. I'm wondering what best practices are for shutting the plotter down during long periods of down time (several days to a week). It automatically goes into sleep mode for energy efficiency, but it would still save energy to power down during down time. If I do power down, how frequently should I power on to avoid ink drying, etc.

Thanks in advance.

When it goes into sleep mode it's using minimal power.   I think the newer printers have a feature that "excersise" the printheads every so often to keep things fresh so keeping them on is beneficial.  Might want to check your operators manual to confirm.

If you still want to power down completely, I wouldn't let it sit for more than a couple days.  The printheads should be parked and capped but they may still dry out.

I don't work for HP....I just repair their printers.
