Hey everybody,

I am having some problems with my designjet. I keep getting an error code 0021, my cyans are not printing at all, and my yellow looks like it starting to go. I have tried changing out the lens on the line sensor as well as changing out the printheads for the colors that are not printing and I am still having the same issue.

I am thinking that it could be clogged tubes and printheads or air in the lines that is causing this.

Is there any solutions or tools I could use to clean the system? Or am I completely off on my diagnosis here?

Many thanks.

ok well now I having some problems with my magenta print head. the error is 5115. asking to replace so I did with a brand new one and I get the same error. from what I researched that is the chip on the print head that went bad. but how could that happen on a new print head?

You may be off base here. New printheads if that is what you installed come with 4 ml of ink in them so even if they are not replenished due to air in the line they still will print for many drawings before they fail. The error message is telling you the black printhead has detected a significant number of bad nozzles that affects print quality. To see if the printheads are any good, remove from plotter and place in hot water (coffee temp) for 2 minutes. Remove and blot with a paper towel. You should get 2 lines of color. If you do not the printhead is bad. If you get 2 lines of color, first perform a printhead alignment to make sure the color is not printing and if not, then the issue is probably the carriage assembly.

How would I go about testing the carriage assembly?
