Hi all

 

hope someone can help me

 

i have the HP Laserjet 4345mfp and want to set it up to "send to e-mail"

 

how do i do that

 

im using a g-mail account

 

im always getting smtp error

 

im a newbie in printer setup

Hello, what you would need to do is first is find out your smtp gateway, here are the steps to set that up after you obtain the smtp gateway.

 

1. From the "Home" screen, touch "Administration".
2. Touch "Initial Setup".
3. Touch "E-mail Setup", and then touch "SMTP Gateway".
4. Type the SMTP gateway address, either as an IP address or as a fully qualified domain name.
5. Touch "OK".

 

Test the SMTP settings:
1. From the Home screen, touch "Administration".
2. Touch "Initial Setup".
3. Touch "E-mail Setup", and then touch "Test Send Gateways".

 

 

If you do not know your smtp gateway you can also try to find it from the control panel.

 

1. From the "Home" screen, touch "Administration".
2. Touch "Initial Setup".
3. Touch "E-mail Setup", and then touch "Find Send Gateways". The touchscreen will display a list of detected SMTP servers.
4. Select the correct SMTP server, and then touch OK.

my smtp says for outgoing its

 

smtp.gmail.com

account type pop3

logon with SPA

the server for outgoing requirers aproval i think

port for outgoing is 587

connection is TLS

I do believe so, but not 100% because each system/setup is different, as it said in my earlier reply could either be an IP address or a domain name path. I believe for google smtp setups I believe they use a "example.gmail.com" or something like that.

 

 

Well it should be the smtp.gmail.com

It still not working

 

im getting back a message every time saying "the adress is not responding or is not a valid SMTP"

 

which email would work
