Good Morning,

I am having an issue with a printer that I am currently using. Everything was fine until about a week ago until the printer started being  unresponsive. Nothing prints anymore and the LCD screen attached to the printer wont turn on except for the X button that is powered on. I have powercycled and have done a cold restart with no success. I have also updated the drivers and firmware. I can ping the printer however that is all, Printing/scanning/faxing no longer work.

I assume this is a hardware issue but if anyone has any advice that would be greatly appreciated. This printer has been down for far to long and I either need this back up or get a new printer soon.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Hi @djslamma,

The issue could be with the Formatter/Fax card/Scanner assembly. Since you have already performed reset I would suggest you to contact our HP Technical support team and get the printer serviced.

Hello,

Sorry to hear about your printer problems.  The blank control panel display is a tough failure to pinpoint to troubleshoot.  Especially when it has worked for sometime and then develops an issue.  The first question I have is related to the power source.  Is the M425 connected to a power strip or outlet.  Power strips can have faulty outlets that do not supply adequate and can cause various printer behaviors.   If the  power source is a power strip, please plug directly into a wall outlet.  If that does not correct the issue, I believe that the issue may be with the printer formatter board or the control panel flex cable that connects to the formatter.   If your printer is still is the 1 year factory warranty, call HP support and have it serviced.

Let me know your situation after trying the suggestions.
