Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi guys,

I get the message "Data received to print press ok". I press it and nothing happens. Then I need to restart the printer or it doesn't print. This message has be showing up for the last at least 5-6 months but I never got the time to search for what's causing it. Now I am getting frustrated. About 10 people are using the printer. I happens about 5 times a day. What could be the cause of that ? I tried searching google but as a solution I only find "press ok" which doesn't work in this case. I use a mac and never had this message appear but I don't print that much. My colleages have Windows 7 with PCL6 driver installed. I recently updated the firmare and still does the same thing.

Thanks for helping!

can you try and isolate it to a specific user or program? There are some known issues printing PDF's from web browsers- perhaps they are printing from a remote desktop connection or cloud based work?

It's possible one of the work stations needs to have the driver reinstalled, or you may need to try the HP UPD PCL 6 or Post Script driver if they are printing alot of PDF's

are the printer drivers installed localy on each machine or is this shared from a print server?

It happens when all my colleagues try to print. Yes as I think about it isome are pdfs. Mostly it happens when they print from an ERP system we have. The drivers are installed locally.

you may want to try some of the latest UPD releases- here is a link to the win7 x64 site (I would just test on one user client machine first)

some older software requires the use of a PCL5 driver

if the printer was working fine before, then this will most likely be related to a recent windows or software update

you can also try in the print driver / "printer properties" "advanced tab" disable "advanced printing features" and "ports" tab disable "bi directional support"
