I have an HP photosmart 8250 printer. I had a paper jam, I opened both paper jam doors, the paper jam had corrected itself, but then the message said, "print cartridge cradle is stuck. please clean jam and press OK."  Can't get this sign to go off.

Hi,

Print cartridge cradle is stuck is a carriage jam error message. We have to make sure that there are no obstructions and the carriage should move freely.

Sara-7,

Thanks for your reply. HP's 20 step possible problem solution, was correct, but I only found it today, August 22, by luck when I happened to see in my e-mail the same some 20-step solution that HP e-mailed me, thank goodness.  Thanks to the repair video on HP website, which said every now and then, "Important note!" when looking for a paper jam at back of machine, with the back door off, did I finally notice 20 sheets of paper, HP of course, which had not gone through the machine, but ended up on the bottom of the back of the computer, and were barely, barely visable with a flashlight if you look hard through a roller (?) at bottom. I got those out with a kitchen knive. But by running the HP "printer doctor" (?) it said, "Your cartridge is jammed. You must clear obstruction." I didn't know what the cartridge was, and only with the 20-step cartridge jam HP document did I figure out what to do. As instructed, I opened front of printer over ink cartridges, I opened the 2nd plastic door with a screwdriver inside, instruction said, cut on printer, open doors, pull out power plug from back of computer, if cartridge is to the right, slide it to left, then look for paper. With a light, I barely saw a small piece of paper, with a writing pen, dull in, I got the paper out, put power cord back in, etc,. and the printer started working for the first time in 3 or 4 days. I am not mechanical minded, but with HP's help, I finally got the printer working. Thanks for all your help.  Don't know what to suggest. After I typed in my printer problem, didn't really expect anyone to answer. But your answer was the righto one, and was teh same one HP e-mailed me a day or so later, and I found it 2 days later, or today. Thanks for all the help. Keep trying to help these people. Show them solutions that have been reached by other HP customers, to show them these problems can be solved by regular people with HP's experts suggestions.
