Hi
i downloaded HP print and scan doctor to troubleshoot an issue i have with a printer.
once clicked, it extracts some files and creates a shortcut on desktop, when i click the shortcut, it runs again an extract for couple of seconds then nothing happend. i checked the processes, i found one called HPdiagnostic that runs for these same couple of second after i click the shortcut then stops
any idea what do i need to do to get HP print and scan doctor to work??

I understand you are getting error Another instance of this application is already running when you open the print and scan doctor on your PC.
Don't worry I'd like to help you out.
Did you make any software or hardware changes to your printer or PC?
Please provide the printer model to assist you better.
As you mentioned you have issues opening print and scan doctor on your PC.
Please try few steps recommended below.
First, to close your other instance of the Print and Scan Doctor:
Close all other programs you have open.
Press Ctrl, Alt, and Del on your keyboard at the same time.
Click on Start Task Manager.
Click on the Applications tab.
Click on the Print and Scan Doctor listed.
Click on End Task.
If you are still unable to open the Print and Scan Doctor, click on the Processes tab and do the same with anything that has HP in the name.
This should allow you to run the Print and Scan Doctor and resolve your issues.
If the issue still persists after trying out the steps. Try uninstalling the print and scan doctor from your PC and install the latest version of print and scan doctor and check if it helps.
Install the latest version of PSDR 5.0.2 using this link.

hi Mr Robot
i managed to get HP print and scan doctor to work when i followed your instruictions, thank you 🙂
i tried to use it to install the printer i have, it detects it but takes me to HP website to download the driver but it is not on HP website, any idea where can i get this driver from??
my printer is HP photosmart 245

As you mentioned after trying out the steps suggested your issue got resolved.
Also, as you wanted to know how to get the drivers for your printer.
Since the printer is very old there are no drivers available from HP.
However, you can install the drivers using windows built-in drivers.
