Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

 

Just put new cartridges in this morning, but it will not print in color at all. what should I do?

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! After reading your post I see that your HP Officejet 5740 printer is not printing in color. I would like to help you out with this issue today.

  • Allow the printer to rest.
  • Check the paper.
  • Check the print settings.
  • Check the estimated ink levels.
  • Print and evaluate a Print Quality Diagnostic report, and then troubleshoot any defects.
  • Examine the color blocks for defects.
  • Clean the cartridges.
  • Align the printer.

Click here and refer the document to perform the above troubleshooting steps.

(Note: Tough the title of the document is different, these steps should fix the issue.)
