Ugh.  Please, PLEASE fix this ASAP!  The whole reason I bought the printer was for this function.

my problem is with officejet 7200

mac update eventually fixed basic operation. I removed the hp suite waited then did a software update check. the mac downloaded the software.

The problem is the scanner. the mac does not see the scanner so image capture dos'nt work. The scanjet software I deleted inorder to update is no longer available....how bad is that...when i bought the bloody thing there was no software included on a disc for a mac...

Now the worst part. I contacted HP. They want me to enter into a 12 month contract at £8.49 per month inorder to get the software that did not come with the printer/scanner..

This software is not available online.

I have always bought HP products laptops cp1515n  5mp  4c  and other bits..but never again...

They want you to go on paid scheme for support..

Hello,

For Mavericks software that is available for any Scanjet devices, I would recommend either pose your question to the commercial forums for a work around, or look on the driver and download page. I have included both of the links here for you.
HP Enterprise Business Community
HP Drivers & Downloads page

For others with an Officejet, Photosmart, Laserjet, or Deskjet. You can see if the Mavericks 10.9 software is available on the HP Drivers & Downloads page. Just type in your product number, and click on go. Then select your operating system, and select next. Then scroll down, select your drivers and download.

As previously stated by MBJustice here "all the current updates are posted and available for products that have an update available." For @alwaysfrustrated, the C4780 was last support on Mac OS X10.7. For @xxxdavidxxx, the Officejet 7200 was last support on Mac OS X10.6. Do to the last time that these printers where supported with available software/drivers, it is most likely that the drivers will not be created for these products.

Thank you.

I already have the driver for mavericks. The issue is with the driver itself. I think there is a bug because it will not let me scan to computer on the new computer with mavericks while I can still do this with my old OS 10.6

Hi,

To be able to assist with the appropriate steps, please let me know the full model number of the printer that you do have. I have included the document 'Guide to finding your product number'.

Thank you.

Well now I have an answer and can make an informed choice on what all in one I need to purchase next.  Hmmm, what brand should I purchase?

Maybe i'm going mad.....

In response to Lil_Lisa27 who states goto the support page and type in the model number and so on....

I did that first..I typed in hp 7200 and was taken to the download page.

It took me to a page that describes how to download the latest software and drivers...IT states 10.9 for hp 7200..

So I am going to assume it is available....If it is no longer longer supported and it won't work it should clearly state it..

According to the HP web site the drivers and software are downloaded from apple direct from the " check for updates" app.

But.....you have to have the Mavericks osx running first......go figure that out.....

Once you've "upgraded to mavericks and you click on check for updates, nothing happens...

I have been on the phone to HP...They told me they no longer support this product but for the yearly subscribtion fee they will tell/give me the solution..

Lil_Lisa27 states this product is no longer supported but it worked fine with snow lepord, lion and mountain lion.

Seems such a shame to throw away a product that works.

Very bad form from HP

Hi,

I am concerned abotu this statement,

"

I have been on the phone to HP...They told me they no longer support this product but for the yearly subscribtion fee they will tell/give me the solution.."

We don't sell subscriptions like this.  I do not believe you weren't talking to an HP agent.  What was the number you called? Do you have a service ticket number?

This is a joke....somebody stated that they were concerned about a statement I made that for some money HP will offer me support........OK

I went to the HP official web site and got the UK phone number 0844369036 this is the number for both in warranty and out of warrenty products/printers...

It is not free call it is charged at 5p per minute so thats 6p with vat"tax" Everybody can goto the HP site and clearly see this.

No big deal but was kept on hold fo 18 minutes. Once the phone was actually answered I explained my situation and was told about hp out of warranty program.

I was told that my problem could be fixed but had to go on a 12 month contract at £8.49 plus vat"tax" per month scheme.

I complained about this and was put on hold for another 20 minutes only to be told the same thing.

My reference number is 6207416379  and I live in England.

So just to clear up any confusion, and I suggest any HP reps do this is, goto the official HP site - input HP 7200 inkjet- look for software and drivers for mavericks- and there it is, clear as day software and drivers for 7200.

This made me believe that if I upgrade to mavericks the software and drivers exist.

I upgraded to mavericks then I followed the instructions.

Basically all you do is goto the top left of the screen-apple icon and hit check for updates- then nothing happens as there is no update because hp no longer support this product -call HP and for a fee they will fix it..Don't take my word for it-do the above then respond.....

I've 2 responses to this and both have implied that this is somehow my fault.

I CHECKED the hp web site first then upgraded my osx.
