Surely this problem should be in Apples court!  It all worked fine until Apple introduced a faulty upgrade to the operating system.  The HP scanner and driver worked well before.  I think we should be screaming at Apple to fix their faulty Mavericks!

Whose name is on the software?? HP and not Apple. It is not Apple's responsibility to make sure that HPs software works with the OS. Jus like it's not Microsoft's responsbility to make sure that a peripheral works with Windows.

Welcome to the real world!

I reply to all you and thank you all for your attention. There is a fact. Before Mavericks everything went right. Usually the OS changes are communicated to all partners or developers before the release of it in order to let them privide the opportune upgrades to their softwares. I can't Konw if this has been done , but considering that HP together with EPSON and CANNON are the biggest producers of printers in the world, I imagine that it HAS BEEN DONE. Therefore HP is in defect.

I'm sorry and wondered about this. But I agree with all persons that consider HP responsible of this shame!!!!

Well it sure was Apples responsibility to inform its users about the incompatibility before those users downloaded the so called upgrade. Thanks for pointing out the real world asopposedtothemillions of dollars Apple spends to create the illusion that they actually give a **bleep**.

So I have tried the latest HP driver and scan software set 2.16.1.

The drivers are FINE for scanning but the software app to scan is NOT.

If you use Image Capture it scans corrently and unlike the HP scan software actually saves correctly.

If you use the HP app to scan it will look like it scans correctly but is corrupted and only saves the left half of the page (if you save as pdf).  If you save as a series of jpgs for multiple pages, it works ok.

Until a new version of the HP app comes out and you need to save multiple pages as a single pdf then use the Apple Image Capture app.

Hope that helps

This is known since october at HP and still not solved!

Yes, it was a serious issue, now it looks just ridiculous. My brother solved forever ..... buying a Canon 🙂

I was heard it is solved by using the scanning function of Aperçu app (I don't know if this is the correct name of this app in English as I am French using French OS X). I will test it later...

Happy New Year.   HP won!  ... by patiently ignoring their customers, and feeding them a series of repeated non-answers.  As soon as I deplete my expensive supply of ink and toner, I junk my HP printers (all 3 of them) and scanner (1 of them) and move my business to a more responsive and responsible maufacturer.

Have you tried using the app Image capture to do the scan?
