Hi

I am using HP LaserJet M1536dnf MFP, it said to  me on OS 10.9 that (scanning software for this printer is currently unavailable. please contact the manufacturer for latest software)

Cheers, your advice about using Image Capture provides a decent workaround whilst HP seek a solution. I contacted Apple and they have bounced the ball straight into HP's court i.e. "nowt to do with us."

Interestingly I tried your other suggestions alas to no avail as I inadvertantly already had HP Scan configured as you instructed.

Hopefully a solution is not too far away.

Thanks again

Same problem here with HP Scanjet 8200 + Mavericks:

1. HP Scan version 2.4.4 shows the scan results OK on screen, but printing and saving fail (rubbish). (My conclusion: no problem here with the driver.)

2. The workarounds fail, since both Preview and ImageCapture do not recognize my scanner. This might be a driver problem.

Still not working with my ScanJet 4370 and Mavericks ...

The 4370 is not recognized by the newer drivers and ICA ...

the 10.8 solution scans with hpscan and show what it used to, saving gives black screen with some lines.

Pressing the button on the scanner often fails ...

When does hp brin a solution ?

Dear VanRicker

This still does not work for scanning; my scanner does not appear in the list of "Add Printers of Scanners"

I therefore cannot use the Image Capture workaround.  However, I do have Readidris for Mac, and using a convoluted proces, am able to scan and save pdf files, although it is useless for imaging.

The post-Maverick workarounds do not work for me.  I can not scan with my Photosmart Premium All-In-One 309a.

How's that solution coming, HP?

I have the same problem Mac OS X 10.9 + G4010 scanner

Just to add my request to the queue for an updated driver for 10.9:

  • HP Scanjet 8200 (was working perfectly with 10.8), using HP Scan 2.4.4 (3)

I am getting the scrambled images on Save. I have tried to save it in every format listed, including Print to PDF and send to Email. The interesting thing is that the images are scrambled differently on every format.

I also get the Error message if I try to Save an image again with a different format and/or name. If I quit HP Scan and re-launch, it will save another scrambled image without the error message.

I have tried all the workarounds mentioned. None of the other software recognizes the existence of my scanner.

Thanks for helping us get a new driver.

I should know better by now to NEVER upgrade to the newest version of an OS.  When Leopard came out I waited for Snow Leopard and when Lion came out I waited for Mtn Lion.  Lesson to all, second incarnation typically has most of the bugs fixed.  Annoyed with myself and the vendors concerned

Several days ago I re-installed Mountain Lion, in order to be able to work with my 4370 scanner again.  Everything works fine, but - HP and Apple -  this is not the way how it should be... Shame on you...
