Everyone seems to have similar problems which is heartening, as I thought that I was alone. However, HP should try to resolve this with Apple or vice versa as it's highly inconvenient. Can we have a time frame please HP?

Hi,
Both HP and Apple are working on the problem. We expect to have updated software available for affected products soon. I realize this is not the date you asked for, but the nature of software fixes is always a fluid one. While I fully expect we have this solution nailed, it is in testing right now, so if testing finds something else, it may be delayed.
Thanks for your patience.

Hi All,
we all see to be having the same problem.
I purchased a HP Photosmart 7520 on Sunday 27 October 2013 and found that I could not scan by wireless to my iMac computer in pdf format nor combine more than one page in a pdf document.
In a fashion I could scan to an email which did not end up as an attachment.
I have spoken to HP who advise that the Apple software upgrade OSX Version 10.9 is not compatible wuth the HP printer that I purchased on Sunday and that they are working on drivers to overcome the problem ( no time frame given as to when they will be ready) and AppleCare and the shop i purchased the printer at.
The shop advised me today of a imac app called Image Capture which will at least let you scan to documents in pdf format but i still have to overcome a 6 page scan being 6 individual scans and not one combined document.

Hi Hods,
I understand that you are having an issue with scanning several pages into one document with image capture. I have included the following steps below that have worked for me.
1) On the left hand side if the details are not showing, click Show Details in the bottom right
2) Change the format to PDF (about middle of the pane)
3) right below the format option you should see 'combine into single document'. make sure that there is a check mark beside this
Please let me know if this resolve scanning into one document, thank you.

@hods (and anyone else that needs to create a multi-page pdf...
-it's super easy and i use it all the time...
just make sure that the files you're trying to combine are PDF, or else it won't work
open Automator.
click workflow
-a blank workflow will open
you will see a list of item on the left...at the top of that list is a seach box
type "Get specified finder items"
double click
-this will add it to the workflow
remove text from search field.
type "Combine PDF pages"
double click
this will add it right below "Get finder items"
clear search field.
type "Open images in Preview"
now that you've created the workflow, add whatever pdf's you want to combine and hit "RUN"
-you can either drag and drop files to the first box, or click on add
-whatever order they appear in in the "fet finder items" box, is the order they will be in when they are combined...
-you can drag and drop to rearrange.
After you hit RUN, preview will open with your new, combined PDF.
IMPORTANT: make sure that you SAVE AS...and there you have it.
before closing workflow, you can save it for future use...just add and rem ove pdfs, hit run, and save as!
hope this is helpful.

EDIT: PARTIAL DOUBLE POST...POSTED WHILE I WAS STILL TYPING, BUT PAGE NEVER RELOADED, SO I KEPT ON TYPING...I'M NEW HERE, SO I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO REMOVE THIS...SORRY
(AND I'M NOT YELLING, JUST TRYING TO DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN THE TWO MESSAGES...LOL)
i too cannot scan with hp scan.app, which is my preferred way to scan.
i have an HP officejet pro 8600 e-all-in-one.
like many others have reported, everything looks good before i save, then when i save, it's only savinf a portion of the image, and enlarging it...i guess a crop and enlarge...
i have found a waorkaround that hasn't been listed...
open printer, and cmnd+L, or click on Printer drop down menu and then printer and scanner preferences at the bottom
or spotlight "printers & scanners" to go directly there.
-make sure printers is highlighted on the left, not fax

then click scan...right next to print (my print was selected by default)
now, just under the name of the scanner, click "Open scanner"
this will open the scanner, without scan.app or image capture, though it does look and function like image capture.
sadly, there is no edit...no straighten (which is the BEST EVER) nor is there a crop...
i really need to get a fix for this ASAP as i am constantly scanning and emailing diffent docs for work, and i like to make sure they all go in straight...
how's that fix coming along hp?
