My HP Deskjet 3052A all in one will not scan the full image to my Mac, I've had it for 2 weeks and it's never scanned the full image only the top right corner of the page.  I have searched through all things that were installed into my computer and I can't fix it.

Did you download AND install the HP drivers from the link to the Apple site above?  Just downloading them does nothing.

Reset the printing system:

- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

What version of OS X?  Have you tried scanning with Image Capture in your Applications folder?

10.5.8

I just tried it and it says there is no image capture device connected all though the printer/scanner is plugged into the computer.

I have the same problem - only the top right quarter of the page is scanned.  This is with an HPDeskjet 3050A on an iMac running Lion 10.7.3.  How can I get the whole page to scan?

Download and install this: support.apple.com/kb/DL907

I located (not so easy!) and downloaded that driver, but have the same problem when I initiate the scan by pushing the "scan" button on the scanner.  However, if I initiate the scan by opening the HP scanner application on my harddrive, it works fine.

A work-around in the hand is worth two fixes in the bush!

I followed your instructions.  When I click the "default" box, nothing happens.  Now I have no printer!

The printer had turned itself off.  I turned it back on and all seems well.

I called HP and they told me the printers are messed up and my scanning from printer it won't scan correctly. They are trying to fix this problem. He told me to always scan from the computer and it will work.
