HP1022n
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have an HP1022n, which works fine when I connect it to the computer using USB.  But when I connect it to an ethernet network, the computer does not find the printer online.

The lights at the ethernet plug indicate that the network connection is active, and the self/test configuration printout from the printer shows it has been assigned an IP address on my network.  Also, I can successfully ping the printer from the computer.

I tried using the  HP Print and Scan Doctor, which notes that the HP Driver listed on my computer is connected to a USB port.  When I try to change this setting in the HP Print and Scan Doctor, the program just restarts.  When I try to change this setting in Devices and Printers, it says the action is not supported.

How can I connect to my HP1022n over the network?

I tried all that but it does not work.

When I use the HP Print and Scan Doctor, the printer connection shows as USB, although it is not connected by USB.  There doesn't seem to be a way to change that setting from USB to network.

I haven't had a chance to try this yet, and won't until this weekend.
