I have two HP 3050's. On one of them running Win XP, the Add (+) button has disappeared from the Scan window for adding multiple pages. I used this feature just a few days ago. I installed the second 3050 on another PC running Win 7, downloaded the updated driver, but the button does not appear on it either.  I have unchecked the "Create a separate file for each scanned page" box and chosen PDF as the output file. I have even looked up the Scanning Multiple Pages on the HP website. I realize it is probably a very simple fix that I am overlooking, but am currently having a "brain freeze." Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Use the HP Scan program instead of the scan button on the printer/scanner.

Click document to PDF or picutre of a document symbol with "PDF" on the corner of the image

the dpi has to be 300, i tried 600 and the "add page" was gone

make sure the "create seperate page per scan/file" is not clicked

that should do it

at least on my 3050a scanner/printer

What Hobojoe says is about right, but if you are still having issues you can usually fix it by by a simple uninstallation and reinstallation of the program files.

If you are having issues installing from the CD, then I would recommend uninstalling the printer from the computer and reinstalling the software from the download available through the HP website.

JNBSr, Start by going through Programs and Features, Devices and Printers and the Device Manager and make sure that the printer software is completely removed, uninstalled or deleted.

Then in the start menu, click RUN and type "%temp%" and press ENTER. In the folder that opens up I want you to delete all the files and folders present that will allow you to delete them (some will not allow you to, and that is alright).

After doing all that and restarting your PC follow the link below and install the Full-Feature software and drivers available through the HP download:

Try that and let me know what happens or if this resolves your issue!

I was having the same problem...my add button disappeared and did not reappear after I updated my drivers. It took me awhile to figure it out, but on the bottom left where the number of pages scanned is displayed, for instances "1/1" there are two buttons a little over to the right of the pages scanned info. Clicking the plus sign button will add another page; clicking the red x button will delete the page just scanned. At least this is what's happening on my scanner. Hope this helps.

I upgraded to Windows 10 and the plus sign disappeared.  After trying all the things in this forum, nothing worked.  But, I fiddled around and found if you check the box that is labeled, "Show scan preview" the plus sign comes back.  Try it!
