HP3050A 611
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My HP 3050A 611 is a wireless printer and has suddenly stopped working properly.  My operating system is Windows 10.   The problem started by it only printing some documents and not others.  Now it is not printing any documents at all.  I have printed a configuration page and a test page and they work fine.  The wireless signal is excellent.  The printer queue says the document is printing but nothing happens.  I have switched it on and off again but it's still the same.    I have also run some diagnostic tests from HP support website and my PC is communicating with the printer but further information says that "Web services do not function for this printer".   When I check the status of the printer in the control panel it keeps going offline even though I have not ticked that box.  All drivers are up to date.  Does this mean that my printer will no longer work properly with Windows 10 and/or Web Services.  Please can you help.  Thanks

Running the diagnostics at http://www.hp.com/go/tools may help resolve the printing issue.  Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.

HP Web Services have been discontinued for your printers, see the document here for information.

Thanks for your reply.  I have already run the scan doctor but it didn't resolve the problem.   If the web services have been discontinued for my printer, what does this mean?  Do I need to get a new printer to work with Windows10 or is there a way round it?

The Web Services being discontinued means certain web based features will no longer work,  see the document here for information.  For most of the features there are alternatives listed in the document.

What exactly does the HP Print and Scan Doctor (HPPSD) say about the printer?  Are there any errors reported from HPPSD?

Edit - the following document also has some steps that may help resolve the issue.  If the wireless connection is having issues the document here may also help.  Note that both these document reference HPPSD, you can skip that section if you have already tried all the steps suggested by the HPPSD.

I ran the Scan Doctor again and the results were - it communicates with the printer, wireless signal excellent, everything checks out, test page prints OK but flashes to say "offline".  I downloaded and installed software updates and restarted.  At the moment the printer seems to print from an ordinary word document but is intermittent when printing from the internet.   I have done all of these things previously and the printer works for a bit then it stops again.   May I ask, if Web Based Services are not longer supported for my printer will it work with the USB cable?  Will that solve the problem?  I have looked at all the other solutions suggested and have either tried them or don't understand them (too technical).  Does it mean that I need to get a new wireless printer to work with Windows 10?  Simple answer please.  Many thanks for your assistance.

As a follow on from my last update, I have come back to my PC and tried to print something and it tells me the printer is "offline".   I cannot get it to stay "online"!!!

I have also deleted the printer and reinstalling it and it is still Offline and will not print.  I have tried all of the other suggestions on the Help pages and nothing seems to work.

When the printer is reported as offline does the HP Print and Scan Doctor detect the printer as connected?

Yes it does identify the printer and says it can communicate with it.  Scan Doctor doesn't come up with any errors.  However, as previously reported, when I print the test page from Scan Doctor I get a momentary notification to say the printer is Offline, but it still prints the test page.

I have run out of ideas on this one, I will ask to have some other experts chime in with suggestions.
