I would like to create a desktop shortcut for the HP Smart app, but I cannot find where the app or Windows provides this option. I can only find where it will let me pin to either the start menu or the taskbar. First, is it possible to create a desktop shortcut for the app, and if so, how can I do it?

@JimGPA, welcome to the forum.
I believe you can go into the Start Menu and simply click and hold on the app with the left mouse button and drag it to your desktop. This will make a link to it on the desktop. I just tried this with several apps and it worked perfectly.
Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

Old_geekster, Thank you. That worked. I was skeptical because when I tried it, I got the circle with a slash through it, but when I let go of the mouse button it created the shortcut. Sometimes the simple solution is the best!
