Hi traindoctor,
The 1606dn is only capable of Airprint. ePrint is not a supported feature for this printer. I have a couple links about airprint and cloud print below. Appoligize if you thought that the printer supported the ePrint feature.

The P1606dn is *NOW* ePrint capable.
Your printer may need a firmwear update. The firmware date code as shown on a Device Configuration sheet should be 20111011 or so.
Then follow the instructions. (Put the printer's IP address in your web browser, then go to the Web Serivces tab (the tab might be new, if you updated the firmware), etc.
I did it this afternoon and it seems to work just fine (as does AirPrint).

Hello anMarie0264,
Welcome to the HP Support forums. I understand that you would like to setup the ePrint feature of your Laserjet P1606dn printer.
The printer needs to be connected to your network by an ethernet cable to enable ePrint. If you currently have it connected by a USB cable you will need to make the switch to an Ethernet connection. You didn’t indicate which operating system you have so I’ve given you the link to the Install / Uninstall software & drivers page. Please choose your operating system and follow the instructions to switch from a USB connection to an ethernet question.
The next step is to ensure the firmware is update on the printer. I’ve included the Getting the Latest Firmware and Product Updates document. It has the instructions on how to check your firmware and if needed, update the firmware.
The next step is to get the printer’s claim code. The instructions can be found in the document Getting the Printer Claim Code. Once you have the printer’s claim code you’ll want to Set Up a Custom Email Address for ePrint.
You should now be successfully set up with ePrint.
