How do I connect hp 3225 e-printer to a Chromebook?  Are step by step instructions available?

HP Recommended

I get to the same point, but when I enter the numeric code into my web address bar, it just sits and thinks and then times out -- can't get it to load up. Any advice is helpful. Thanks!

Hi there, just to clarify, are you trying to print from a Chromebox to a Deskjet 3050a? I'm assuming the numeric code you refer to is the IP address of the printer and you're trying to follow the instructions from Jon-W given earlier in the thread? If so you may need to check that its the correct IP address you're using.

Is the printer definitely connected to your wireless network (the blue wireless light should be solid and not flashing)? I'll wait for your response before posting anymore.

Thank you for responding! No, I was directed to that thread from a search, I think, so you're right that I might need a different IP address. I'm trying to print from a MacBook Air to an HP Photosmart Plus B209. Where would I find the IP address?

Hi there, if that's what you're trying to do then you shouldn't need to worry about finding the printer IP address. I'm including a link here to the printers user guide. If you go to page 5 it will guide you through a couple of ways you can add your printer to your network. If you are unsure whether your router supports WPS setup just go to the "Wireless with a router (infrastructure network)" (end of page 6) section and follow the instructions but instead of installing the software from a CD go to this page and download the most current version of the software for your Mac OSX operating system.

If you're having any problems with this just post back.

Hi there, can you expand a little on what it is you're trying to do and the problems you're encountering?

Best.

I have followed this instructions:

"...

There is another alternative but it can be hit or miss.

In the wireless menu of the printer there should be an option to restore the defaults, select that.

Next on your chromebox if you look at the available networks you should see a network for your printer, likely labelled something like HP-print-3050a, connect to that.

..."

The problem is that I cant connect to the network due to  "DHCP lookup failed"

Can you please help me?
