I have some old photos that don't have good resolution when I scan them, but I expect that. But now, I'm scanning some very nice photos that come out blurry when I put them into a slideshow. Is there a way to change the resolution setting?

@kjoy4433,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you wanted to know how to change the scan resolution for your HP Photosmart 7525 e-All-in-One Printer.

Let's go through a few steps to resolve this issue.

Step 1: Check if HP Scan is installed on the Mac:

Check the list of installed applications on the Mac to make sure you have HP Scan.

  1. Open Finder, click Go in the top menu bar, then click Applications.

  2. Double-click the HP folder, then find HP Scan in the list.

    • If HP Scan is in the list, double-click it to open the application, then continue to the next step.

    • If HP Scan is not in the list, go to the How do I install HP Scan software or a scan driver FAQ in this document for steps to check if the full feature driver or HP Easy Start is listed for your version of OS X. If available, install the driver, then continue to the next step.

Step 2: Scan a document or photo

Scan and save a document or photo with HP Scan, then read how to complete other common scanning functions.

  1. Place the document or photo printed side down on the scanner glass, then close the scanner lid.

If your printer has an automatic document feeder (ADF), you can use it to scan multiple page documents at one time. Do not load photos in the ADF to prevent damage to the photos and the printer.

  2. In the HP Scan window, click Scan.

  3. Select your printer name in the Scanner menu, then select a scan job type from the Presets menu.

  4. Click the down arrow in the upper right corner of the window to view and change scan color, orientation, and quality settings.

Click the arrow button to display scan settings

5. Click Continue.

The printer scans the item.

6. Click Scan Next Item or Add to scan additional items, or click Done.

7. Click the thumbnail version of the scanned item in the left panel to display it in the main preview pane.

8. Click Edit to adjust colors, straighten the scan, or crop the size.

9. To save your scans to a folder on the Mac, click Send in the bottom right corner of the window, then click Folder.

10. In the window that displays, click the Where menu to browse to the folder you want to save the file to, then click Save.

11. To view your scan, open the folder in which you saved the scan, then click the file.

And here's the step by step guide for you in the link: How to Scan from the Computer (Mac)

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.
